Our story
Lopez Companies is a family-owned, disabled veteran-owned construction and maintenance company serving communities throughout Northern California. Whether working as a General Contractor, subcontractor or long-term maintenance partner, we bring the same commitment to every project: Safety, Quality and Care. We take pride in building, improving and maintaining the communities we call home.
From one person to a growing team
The Lopez Companies was established in 2023 as a small, one-person operation that started by pressure washing sidewalks. From there, we continued to grow—building playgrounds, maintaining parks, providing porter services, partnering with local cities, and eventually expanding our construction capabilities into the company we are building today.
One company, shared responsibility
General building and civil construction are at the core of what we do. Whether serving as the General Contractor or subcontractor, we bring hands-on experience and a commitment to Safety, Quality and Care from the first site walk through final completion.
Our founder
Fernando D. Lopez
President and CEO
After serving in the Marine Corps, Fernando wasn't exactly sure what direction he wanted to take. In 2008, he entered the construction industry and found his career. Since then, he's had the opportunity to work on major and mega projects throughout California and serve in different capacities, including as a union ironworker, union carpenter, quality control professional, and safety professional. That experience ultimately helped shape the vision behind The Lopez Companies.
Education and continued growth
Education and continued growth are also important to Fernando. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and is currently attending Cal State Monterey Bay pursuing his Master of Business Administration.
